How to remove blue highlights from behind desktop icon text?

I am not sure what happened ... but an incorrect keystroke somewhere has resulted in the attached text to my desktop icons (i.e. ';Recycle Bin';) now having blue squares or rectangles behind the white text. I really want to undo this! Anyone know how?How to remove blue highlights from behind desktop icon text?
No big deal.

- Right click on ';My PC'; (If it's not on you desktop, you should find it in your start menu). Click on ';Properties';.

- In the system properties window, click on the tab that says ';Advanced options';.

- The first square on the menu should say ';performance';. Click on the ';Configuration'; button.

- The first tab on the new window says ';Visual Effects';. Search for an entry that says ';Use shadows in desktop icons names';; make sure it's checked. Alternatively, you can check the line that says ';Let Windows choose the best configuration';; it will select the most common visual effects for your system.

- Click ';OK'; and you're done.

Some of the descriptions I'm writing may not be exactly as typed, I'm not running windows and I'm doing this from memory. But you'll find the actual entries easily.

Cheers.

  • What do you think of blue/platinum highlights at work?

I work in a professional setting (healthcare) and I am considering getting some thin blue highlights with face framing platinum over my black hair. I know it sounds edgy, but that's what I want while at the same time being tasteful at work. I have black hair, the style is a bob and I just wanted to glam it up. Please share your honest opinions. Do any of you have edgy colors/styles and work in a professional setting? I don't care what my co-workers think, I don't want to cross the line with our execs whom I work with. What do you think of blue/platinum highlights at work?
If your work dress code allows it and you are subtle about the highlights you might be able to pull that off in the work setting. Just make it thin and spaced apart far enough to keep it from making people only notice your hair so they still look you in the face when you speak to them. Be careful about your timing for this change because you don't want to give the execs the wrong impression of being unprofessional, especially if you are coming up for a raise or if you are looking to switch rolls at your office anytime soon. What do you think of blue/platinum highlights at work?
Yeah I guess its good but if you ant it not that edgy but a bit you can get side swept bangs with the bob and the highlights on it or you can do it on the ends!
    I think it sounds unprofessional.
Its a really cool style I have to agree, but in a setting like that it IS unprofessional.
I am older and acutally have done it. I have worked in healthcare for many years. Now have my own business and have thought about it again. However, my wardrobe is a bit preppy to pull it off. With dark hair both blue and red fade really fast. I don't know why. I have had it professionally done. My advice is go as deep as you can with the color. Yeah, work look at your environment do you think they are ultra conservative or a bit more with it
I think it should be fine as long as its not to loud. The platinum might be a little much. Just ask your self would you have worn it to the interview?
I think it would be pretty unprofessional and might hurt your status with your employers. Something I might suggest would be to get platinum blonde streaks or chunks all over your head. It's still fairly conservative and if it's done correctly can look very nice.
In a professional setting, blue and platinum is probably not appropriate. In my workplace, our dress code prohibits ';unnatural colors'; in our hair. I would check your dress code policy before making any changes to your hair
that doesn't seem professional to me. it would be wayyyy too much. you should try blonde or brown face framing highlights. that would look acceptable to me.
    It is not professional.

Hairstyles like that at work make you look unstrustworthy.
i know that you want to be different, but in your profession, blue will not get you that big raise...glamming up a bob is easy! you have several choices when it comes to color..depending on if the black is a natural or previous color. go to a nearby salon.. you dont have to commit that day, just go talk to a professional and they will tell you what you need to know.

How would blue highlights look in dirty blonde/blonde hair?

I want Blue highlights in my hair dark/eletric blue like the highlights in bratz the movie. i have dirty blonde /blonde hair. it changes in the sun lol.

would it look good??? and is it a hard process???How would blue highlights look in dirty blonde/blonde hair?
it would be awesome. It wouldnt be hard to process but you need to be able to have it touched up probably once every month. And be careful when doing it. If it bleeds onto the blonde that you dont want colored it will give your hair a green tint. How would blue highlights look in dirty blonde/blonde hair?
i'd probably go with a no. but if you really want blue in your hair, just dip the tips of your hair in it.
its not a hard process. i think it would look cool. like a few big ones in the front.
i personally think it would look bad as its not my scene, butt maybe if u tried a few blue extensions that way its a commitment. x
it wouldn't look very good on blonde hair x]
Well, I guess it depends on your hair but I had a friend when I was in high school that did it and her hair turned out looking like that old lady blue hair color.
    ewww, no way.

i had a friend with blue hair, it was everywhere. its a pain in the butt and you'll look like a retard.
That'd look weird.. But if you were going for a punk/rebel look, you could do blue and pink or something. That'd be cool!
    It would look Dirty Blue.
No, I dont think it would look very good.

If you bleached you hair light blonde or dyed it dark brown it would look better.

BUT ps, blue highlights are going to look trashy and like crap no matter what your hair colour is.
I have very light hair myself because it gets very light outside and I wouldn't do anything too extreme because the light color in your hair will absorb it too much and really ruin it. You could have to get a haircut you don't want if you try it.
that would only look good if you have a tattoo showing on your lower back at the same time. Oh, and you need to smoke. weed.

there is no way you are going to be able to take them off because you must it put in a personal picture or background the best way to do it is going to advanced setting and messing around with the background of the icons

example if the picture is a black backgroung change the same for the icons
