I find if you go to a good salon (which you should, especially for having colour put in), it'll depend on how many highlights you want in. The salon I go to charges $5 a foil (1 foil per highlight) so if you want a lot it can cost you. Seeing as they're blue highlights, I doubt you'd need as many as it takes to get a natural look with a different colour, as you just want to streak it for a fun look, so I'd say you'd pay less than $90, maybe around $50 or a bit more or less. But don't forget if you plan on keeping them, you need to go in about every 3 months to have them touched up. Hair colour isn't cheap so don't just say, ';I'm gonna change up my hair colour today!';. Depends on the salon and stylist. I would charge about 30 or 40 for them.
There are many factors. How many highlights you want, how long your hair is, what color your hair currently is, and what kind of salon you go to.
The longer your hair, and the darker your hair, the more dye it will take to lighten your hair before you can add a color like blue. The shorter and lighter your hair, the cheaper it will be. The more highlights you want, the more dye it will take, and the more it will cost.
A head of blond highlights run around $100 at the salon I go to for medium length hair. You would have to add blue on top of that, so the cost would only go up.

One of my best buds back in high school when I had a 6'; hawk myself...had the coolest hawk I have seen to this day.
It was dark, dark blue at the roots and faded up to almost bleach blonde white at the tips. It was sooo cool but I have absolutely no idea how he managed to get it perfect like that.
He definatly had to have help, hell he had at least a foot of hawk.
It was hard enough doing normal funky highlights to my own hair...I couldn't ever do something like that.
Get together some pals and give it a try.
*oh and I'm not sure what you meant by spiked up...you're not one of those who don't put up their hawk are you???

I think you should consider maroon. I had a friend w/ dark brown hair that did that and it looked really cool.
blue looks very cool but fades fast . so try the blond if your still set on blue get extensions , the hair dresser can cut the extentions to look real so they dont look out fo place if you buy them for cheap.

blue looks very cool but fades fast . so try the blond if your still set on blue get extensions , the hair dresser can cut the extentions to look real so they dont look out fo place if you buy them for cheap.

men didnt get it and girls bitched about it, not good.
the only time i think this really works is with dark hair with a bit of red, otherwise it looks like one of them colour-my-hair-in barbies!
if you want a change why not go for a more subtle colour or go dark if you want a change that will be noticed!

but it seems like i can only get natural colors.i asked for green %26amp; blue and my mom %26amp; dad said no.

They look great at first but when the colors fade there not so cute.. It could also be a problem when you want to take the color out. Try something like an extention. These are good to use and wont damage your natural pretty hair. :)

Sometimes, the blue turns green. I'd recommend a neon green or purple!
Also, have a hair stylist highlight it for you. I know it costs more, but it's worth it. That way you can avoid any mess ups from doing it yourself.

They look great at first but when the colors fade there not so cute.. It could also be a problem when you want to take the color out. Try something like an extention. These are good to use and wont damage your natural pretty hair. :)

Sometimes, the blue turns green. I'd recommend a neon green or purple!
Also, have a hair stylist highlight it for you. I know it costs more, but it's worth it. That way you can avoid any mess ups from doing it yourself.

If however your hair is darker you would need to bleach first to get a good result and it is not normally advised to do two chemical treatments in quick succession - I would wait a while before bleaching or ask the person doing the straightening how long they advise you wait before using bleach on the hair.

How many 15 year old guys with blue highlights have you ever had wait on you at a fast food restaurant, or at a store. It isn't just the highlights either, you had better have a regular guy's haircut or an ivy league or crew cut if you want to find a job in this economy. All those long haired male actors on the Disney channel including Zac Efron could not get a job working in any capacity at a Disney theme park because Disney requires hair above the ears, collar and eyebrows. And guess what it is perfectly legal to discriminate in hiring based on unnatural hair color or highlights or haircuts, because none of these constitute protected classes under any of the civil rights laws-race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, religion, age.

Hello, I don't know if it's going to be exactly the same on your PC but I had that EXACT same issue when I tried to speed up my laptop. I was turning the visual effects on and off trying to determine the best look with the least performance loss. I turned off what Windows XP calls ';drop shadows for desktop labels'; and my desktop labels did exactly what you describe.
In Windows XP at least, which is what I have in front of me so if you have Vista you'll have to Google the same fix for it, you can right click on My Computer and click on Advanced. You'll see a Performance button and from there you can either let the computer choose the visual effects to speed up performance, best appearance, or set custom settings. You sould check and see if you have turned off the shadows.
If that isn't it then maybe you have lowered your overall video settings. If the above doesn't work then right click on an empty part of your desktop and click Properties and then Settings, then make sure your Resolution and Color Quality isn't cranked down.

So I'm talking to my parents about letting me get blue highlights. Their only excuse against it is I'm trying to get my first job this summer (I'm 15) and interviewers won't take me, or will think a lot less of me if I have blue highlights in my hair.

the bottom line is that if a few customers may not like it, that becomes a concern to your boss.
In general, businessmen are conservative in nature, and they dont want to offend any customers.Would job interviewers think less of you if you had blue highlights in your hair (Male)?
I think you're parents may need a chill pill and a reality check. Highlights, regardless of colour are an individuals self expression. Most employers are aware of the relevant anti discrimination laws and have probably seen just about everything there is to see in the way of people expressing themselves with body adornments and colours %26amp; probably wouldn't take very much notice of it at all.
Depends what job your applying for. I doubt they'd want someone with blue highlights serving behind a counter, in full veiw of the customers. However, if you were to apply for a shelf stacking job, out of view, i would say it would be acceptable. All depends on the interveiwer aswell, and his/hers personal opinion. To be safe, id wait until AFTER you get a job, that way if they sack you you can sue for unfair dismissal :)

If I am hiring you to work in a professional enviroment, I would frown on it. If you are working at a video rental place somewhere, it is not such a big deal. Though given a choice between someone with or someone without the hightlights, with the same qualifications, I would choose without.

My friend is gonna highlight her hair blue but she doesn't want it to turn out green.If your hair is blond,and you highlight it blue....Wouldn't it turn green or not?
It will definitely turn green ,or the blue will fade to a muddy greenish gray blue color. Temporary colors can also bleed and make more then just the hair she highlighted look green. If she really wants to do something blue, I'd suggest she dye a large chunk of her hair or her whole head blue and redo it once a week to maintain the color.
Just remember you can never be pure blonde again easily once you put a wild color on it. The base tones in the color will always stay in your hair. It will cost $100s at a professional to get rid of them. Or, you can bleach them out, risk not having it work at all, and ruin your hair.If your hair is blond,and you highlight it blue....Wouldn't it turn green or not?

What is a good highlight color for medium brown hair, light skin, and blue eyes?
My hair is a medium/darkish brown, i was thinking of getting lighter brown highlights, or a redish color or something. Not so much a caramel.. or yellowy blonde color. I'm just so unsure.

I've done the true red temporary spray in stuff. I mean, it was red. I loved it and it looked good. I loved auburn hair. After using Sun-In before going tubing down in a river (lots of sunlight), my hair had this really cool auburn tint that just sparkles and is amazingly pretty when the sun's setting. Try whatever you feel comfortable with. I too have pale skin and blue eyes and brown hair. Good luck!

Holidays are coming and I would like to get my hair highlight with blue colour hair dye..My friends said its weird but should i listen to my friend or just go ahead with it?? and do ya'll think its weird??Is getting a blue highlight wierd??
Just do it! I had blue highlights for a long time, and even went as far as dying all my hair blue! It is actually my favourite hair colour to date :) The thing you do have to look out for tho is that it will fade very quickly as blue is only supposed to be a base colour for the mixing of other colours. If you are used to washing your hair every day, then your highlights will only stay pretty for about a week. You can wash your hair with only water to make sure that they stay nice for longer. And yes, your friends might call you 'Marge Simpson' or something, but as long as you like it, who cares! I say go for it :)Is getting a blue highlight wierd??

if you watch the movie aquamarine and look at her hair she has aqua highlights but are done very nice. i would say try getting some not on the top so much but the in the back of you hair. this would be very cool so it's just a little pop of color done in taste with it looking very good! don't go over board with id tho. and too see what i am talking about rent the movei aquamarine and look at her hair. p.s. it is such a good movie! just came out one dvd a month ago i think.

Curly light brown hair with blue highlights?
Hey. Just today I got my curly hair done, and added blue highlights. The hairdresser put them in permenant, and she said they wouldn't wear off for a while. If you decide you really don't like it you can always re-dye it brown.

I am not sure what happened ... but an incorrect keystroke somewhere has resulted in the attached text to my desktop icons (i.e. ';Recycle Bin';) now having blue squares or rectangles behind the white text. What do you think of blue/platinum highlights at work?
I work in a professional setting (healthcare) and I am considering getting some thin blue highlights with face framing platinum over my black hair. I know it sounds edgy, but that's what I want while at the same time being tasteful at work. I have black hair, the style is a bob and I just wanted to glam it up. Please share your honest opinions. Do any of you have edgy colors/styles and work in a professional setting? I don't care what my co-workers think, I don't want to cross the line with our execs whom I work with.What do you think of blue/platinum highlights at work?
If your work dress code allows it and you are subtle about the highlights you might be able to pull that off in the work setting. Just make it thin and spaced apart far enough to keep it from making people only notice your hair so they still look you in the face when you speak to them. Be careful about your timing for this change because you don't want to give the execs the wrong impression of being unprofessional, especially if you are coming up for a raise or if you are looking to switch rolls at your office anytime soon.What do you think of blue/platinum highlights at work?
Yeah I guess its good but if you ant it not that edgy but a bit you can get side swept bangs with the bob and the highlights on it or you can do it on the ends!

Its a really cool style I have to agree, but in a setting like that it IS unprofessional.
I am older and acutally have done it. I have worked in healthcare for many years. Now have my own business and have thought about it again. However, my wardrobe is a bit preppy to pull it off. With dark hair both blue and red fade really fast. I don't know why. I have had it professionally done. My advice is go as deep as you can with the color. Yeah, work look at your environment do you think they are ultra conservative or a bit more with it

hi assuming u r using xp sp2 professional (this should work with most oss) right click on ur desktop - go to properties - select appearance tab - select advanced (this might differ in win 98se) -select item - icon now change the size of icon from 32 to 31 or 33 click on apply and again change to 32 hope it works.

I want Blue highlights in my hair dark/eletric blue like the highlights in bratz the movie. i have dirty blonde /blonde hair. it changes in the sun lol.

I have very light hair myself because it gets very light outside and I wouldn't do anything too extreme because the light color in your hair will absorb it too much and really ruin it. You could have to get a haircut you don't want if you try it.
