I tried both right clicking on the desktop and on my computer and going to properties. neither of them worked. How do I take the blue highlight odd the desktop icons?
If you are using windows xp then you should be able to go into my computer or display properties. Click the Desktop tab and click Customize Desktop, then click the Web tab. Be sure the ';lock web items on desktop'; option is NOT selected. Then right-click on my computer, go to the Advanced tab, click the Settings button in the Visual Effects category and make sure ';use drop shadows for icons on the desktop'; is enabled.
If you are using windows 9x you will need to download a program to do this for you since Windows does not support it by default, go here: http://www.freevbcode.com/code/transico.鈥?/a> the zip file provides both the VB source and an EXE. Follow the instructions in the provided readme file. It worked for me!How do I take the blue highlight odd the desktop icons?
Open System Properties in Control Panel, choose the Advanced tab, and click Settings in the Performance section. Turn on the Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop option, and click Ok.
Second Method
1.Right click on My computer%26gt;%26gt;Properties%26gt;%26gt;Advanced Tab%26gt;%26gt;Settings(Visual effects,Processor..)%26gt;%26gt; Under Visual effects Tab, select for best performance and save these settings
2. Right click on Desktop %26gt;%26gt; Properties%26gt;%26gt; Appearances tab %26gt;%26gt; Advanced
you'll find a item dropdown box , your default option will be Desktop and color will be blue
it depends on you to change the color of the icon background or not well to remove the blue back ground just scroll down the item dropdown box and again set to Desktop as a default option and save these settings and exit the windows
make sure that u restart the system after this.
hope this helped.
