You have a third option. Did you consider purchasing some clip on extensions? They sell them in Claire's and Hot Topic in all sorts of colors like blue, pink, red, and purple. They're easy to find and easy to afford. On top of that, they'll last much longer if you take good care of them. I'd usually recommend the salon, but that's more of a permanent and more expensive option, involving a hairdresser permanently bleaching your hair before adding the temporary color. I've used the spray can. It's not that terrible for your hair so long as you wash it out when you're done and use it very sparingly. It's not nearly as rough on your hair as permanent coloring.
